Frozen Fever!

I'm finally getting around to posting about Sadie's birthday party.. but it was such a fun time! We did a Frozen Fever theme and invited all of the little girls to come dressed up as their favorite princess. I set out coloring pages and fruit loops to make necklaces with. I loved decorating the house to look similar to the show with sunflowers and Olaf and Sven hanging out. I'm not a natural at decorating, but felt really proud of the final product! I also made a chocolate fruit dip that was so tasty served with some cut up fruit and PB&J sandwiches. A lady at Will's office made the beautiful (and yummy) cake. It was perfect for the theme! The little girls were so adorable walking in one by one in their pretty dresses. We snacked and did the activities on the table for the first little bit until Elsa and Anna came knocking at our door. They were THE CUTEST! They stayed perfectly in character and were great about giving Sadie extra special attention (even though she had her shy moments). I was so happy with them! They made balloon animals/ accessories for each girl, read a story together, played games (which most of the littles were lost with.. haha), and sang their signature songs. The songs were Sadie's favorite part, and she danced right along to "Let It Go". We snagged a few pictures with them before they left back to Arendale ;)

After they left, we opened presents and blew out candles. We let Sadie go to town on the top tier of the cake. Then, the girls just played in the playroom until they each had to leave. It was such a fun morning!

A Weekend With Nana

Will's mom came to visit this past weekend to celebrate Sadie's birthday (a little early). Sadie loved having her around and showing off all of her new tricks and toys. On Friday, we had Sadie's very first friend birthday party- that will be another post all in itself ;)
That night we went to eat some yummy Mexican food at Tia Rosa's. Arizona has the best Mexican food! On Saturday, we went to Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale. It is such a neat place with thousands of butterflies flying around. We even lucked out and got one to land on Liz's shoulder and one on my head. Sadie was much less scared this time when they would fly up really close. She liked to admire them from a few feet away.

That night we ventured to San Tan mall and checked out some of our favorite stores, aka Disney and the puppy store. Sadie gets so excited every time we go in there and has to see every single puppy. I'm happy that she shares our love for dogs! Sunday was nice and relaxing. We went to church together and came home to the aroma of crockpot pot roast mmmm! I'm glad we were able to have a nice sit-down dinner together before Liz had to leave for the airport. We love when family comes to visit!

4th of July Weekend

We had such a fun, eventful holiday weekend. We knew we wouldn't be able to leave town  for the whole time but desperately needed to escape the heat for a bit. On Saturday, I found an awesome event going on in Scottsdale at West World (a giant indoor venue) with rides, trampoline shows, yummy food stands, and a special toddler area full of slides, inflatable obstacle courses and a bounce house for 5 years old and under. Sadie would have been fine playing there all night. There were also 4 Disney princesses there! Sadie wouldn't give Cinderella and Ariel the time of day and just kept staring and pointing at Elsa and Anna the whole time we were trying to get a picture of her with them. She was bouncing with excitement when they looked over at her and waved. She was a little hesitant to walk over to them alone, but ended up giving them a hug and high-fives. It was so dang cute! We didn't quite make it until the fireworks show there at the end, so while we were driving home, we ended up stopping at a gas station to watch the Chandler fireworks show for a little while.

Cramping her style..

On Sunday, we enjoyed going to church earlier in the day. Will and I both serve in the Primary and with so many people being out of town, I'm glad we were able to be there and help cover all the bases. Since our church time is 12-3, Sadie usually ends up falling asleep on the short drive home and taking a late nap. After she woke up, we dropped her off at Grandma's for a sleepover (thanks, Mom!) and drove up to Roosevelt Lake to meet up with some friends. We camped literally 50 ft. from the water and stayed up late playing campfire games and talking. We woke up to this beauty at the crack of dawn:

Then we spent over 6 hours on the lake! Will and I have the sunburns to prove it..  :(
But it was well worth it and such a blast! We all got to wake board, wake surf, and cling onto the tube for dear life.

On the drive home, we hit up a hole-in-the-wall Mexican food place and it was so good! We got to my parents' house right after Sadie woke up from her nap and hurried home to get ready for our family swim party. It's so nice having access to pools right in our neighborhood! We were shocked when we had this whole pool to ourselves. Everyone brought sides to share and my mom made her delicious Sloppy Joe's. It was a fun time!

Once it got dark and we had all gone home, I heard fireworks going off really close to our house and peeked outside. Our neighbors across the street were shooting off a whole bunch of fireworks in the culdesac right in front of our house. Will, Sadie, and me set up our camping chairs in the driveway and enjoyed the show. Sadie wasn't even scared of the whistlers and loudest ones. It was nice not having to drive anywhere to enjoy fireworks. This was definitely the most fun 4th of July weekend I've ever had!

#1 Dad

Sadie and me enjoyed spoiling our #1 guy this weekend for Father's Day. While Will was sleeping, I decorated the kitchen with tons of pictures of him and Sadie together. It was so fun looking through all of the fun, sweet memories those two have made in the past 2 years. I made a candy card for him "from Sadie" and breakfast tacos. He was a happy man when he came downstairs and saw the spread.

Sadie is the luckiest little girl in the world to have such a sweet, hard-working, playful Daddy. Every time she wakes up in the morning she wants to go check our bedroom for him and every day when he comes home she jumps up and down and squeals with delight! She loves to cuddle up with him on the couch and watch a movie with snacks. It's the most adorable thing to walk in on.

We love you, Will! Happy Father's Day!

Will's Birthday

My best friend turned 27 this month! Since my brother's wedding was the same weekend, we needed to stay in town.. so I booked us a fun overnight stay-cation instead! We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Scottsdale which was gorgeous. Everyone there was SO kind and catering to us. One of the front desk staff gave Sadie a little stuffed animal and a valet guy sent a birthday card, dessert, and a fancy bottle of wine (which we didn't open of course) up to our room. In the morning, I scheduled a Swedish massage for Will while Sadie and I checked out the giant pool outside. She loved bouncing around on her tush in the zero-depth beach area and building sand castles. I was so glad we could do something extra special for his birthday during such a busy weekend with lots of family in town. On Sunday night (his actual birthday), we had cake and ice cream at my parents' house to celebrate Will, my brother Richard, and my nephew Nathan's birthdays. May (actually, springtime in general) is a busy time for birthdays in my family. It was a fun weekend! Will is always taking care of us, so I loved getting to spoil HIM for a change! Happy birthday Babe!

Growing Like a Weed

Sadie has decided to start growing up at lightning speed. She's getting a bunch more teeth in (currently has 12), puts words together like "daddy seep" (daddy is sleeping) and "nigh nigh moo" (night night Moose- our dog's nickname) and "cookie peas" (she figured this one out real fast), decided she no longer needs her binky when she lays down, and is so resourceful when she wants something. I'm constantly dragging her around running errands but she doesn't seem to mind as long as we throw in some outside play time. The girl LOVES the water and trampoline! She doesn't throw too many tantrums yet thank goodness.. but WILL cry any time Mom leaves. I can't say I don't like the extra cuddle time and clingy-ness though ;) She's my mini bestie and I wouldn't have it any other way.

V-day Par-tay

Last week, Sadie and I threw a Valentine's party at the park for our friends. We had lunch, played on the playground, had a bubble machine going, passed out valentines, and decorated cupcakes. There was such a great turnout and it got chaotic at times, but it was really fun! I feel so blessed to have so many great mom friends living close by and I know that Sadie enjoys playing with all of her little friends too! Happy Valentine's week, my friends! XOXO
