the good life

the past week and a half have been pretty hectic for us.
last week, will's work truck and trailer were stolen.
thank goodness his phone number is in huge font right on the side of it
because somebody spotted it a few days later, abandoned.
luckily there wasn't much harm done and nothing major stolen from it.
we're feeling blessed for that much!

in good news though..

the 49'ers (our team) are going to the SUPERBOWL!!!!!

i got to meet Bambi. this thing freaked me out at first...

 i made some V-day decorations.
(weird lighting. they are pink hearts.)

 went bowling with my love.
and lost miserably... the bumpers aren't just for little kids.

got a super cute necklace as a late christmas gift.
(thanks again chelsea!)

and had plenty of cuddles with these guys while we were snowed in.

LIFE IS GOOD.

in between

as i was wandering the halls today between classes,
i found some cool little artsy things i'd never noticed before.
i needed to get some shots for my photo class,
so i took them to my advantage!

i know i'm no pro...
but i can see myself improving.
and that's good enough for me!
the photography program is so great!
it's been helping me to find beauty in the simplest things.
i'm soaking in everything taught and participating more than ever.
there are less than 20 students in each of my classes,
so we're getting to be a pretty tight knit group.
i've already made some fun friends!

oh oh ooooh!
the mr. and i will be doing a Valentines Day photo shoot this weekend.
(we'll be sending out a cyber Valentines card this year.)
i'll be sure to post it on the blog so you all can feel our love!

first week

we just finished our first week of school.
i LOVED all of my teachers and classes!
i just started the Visual Art program at SLCC.
i'm going to be a photographer!
i've always loved taking pictures and being creative.
but there were some other things that i thought i'd like better.
i took a few of those classes and realized they weren't for me.
i'm glad i figured out sooner rather than later...
it's really nice to enjoy what i'm spending time on.
and to have a hubby who supports me 100%.
he surprised me with this awesome leather strap!

will is so close to finishing his associate degree.
he's been so busy running his business full-time,
that he hasn't had time to take more than 2 classes at a time.
he plans to apply to the Univ. of Utah Business School next.
i'm so grateful for a man who works hard and is able to provide for us.
we have big plans and dreams for our future,
and i'm loving watching things play out!

better late than never

so i know Christmas was almost a month ago..
but i totally forgot to share our "Christmas morning" pictures.
(which technically weren't taken on Christmas morning..)
oops i have a little secret.
we opened most of our gifts before Christmas.
we also stuffed our stockings for each other early too.

we were just too excited to wait!
first, we had our own little Christmas dinner for two.
a chicken, mashed potatoes, and sparkling cider. mm mm.
then we read through Luke 2 about the Savior's birth.
after that, we opened our gifts.
my hubby knows me so well, i love all that he gave me!
and he was happy with his gifts too. :)

i hope everyone else had a great holiday season!
now on to a new semester and 2013!

new year, new goals

well it's officially 2013!
out with the old and in with the new!
2012 was a great one. i feel like i really grew up a lot.
there were some disappointments and heartaches,
but out of those came lessons learned and so SO many blessings.

i usually end up losing and forgetting my new year's resolutions..
but for 2012 i kept the list in my top drawer and looking back on it,
i accomplished most of it! (wish i could say "all")
it was hard work, but i'm proud of the positive changes i've made.
i just made this year's list and am excited to work on myself again!

a few of the goals on my list are:

- read at least one book every month.
(i'm sure this is nothin for you book lovers, but it's a stretch for me.)

- make dinner at least 3 times a week.
(i've gotten off to a good start on this one!)

- learn to play guitar
(i miss making music, and i've always wanted to learn it.)

- get into a house
(this is on both of our lists. go team go!)

we'll see what i can check off my list by 2014.
good luck to you guys on yours too!
