a special time of year

i think i've done a reminiscing post like this every year around Halloween.

there's just something extra special about this time of year for me.

it was around this time that will and i became boyfriend and girlfriend 5 years ago.

it was the first holiday we spent together as a couple, 

carving pumpkins in my parents' backyard with a group of friends.

we were just babies back then. oh how time flies!

this year has been an amazing Halloween time again. 

it's been so much fun sharing our traditions with sadie this time around.

last weekend we took our first road trip as a family of three.

we went to portland, cannon beach,  and a couple of other nearby cities.

sadie was such a trooper for the LONG drive and slept most of the time.

it was definitely more tricky toting around a baby and discreetly nursing in public,

but we had a great time and were thankful to get "away from it all".

Oregon Trip 2014

2 months

this post is a week and a half late but i'm just glad i'm getting to it.

it is really important to us to document sadie's milestones, 

because as everyone knows... they grow up way too fast.

it is amazing what she has learned already in just 2 short months of life!

at her 2 month appointment she measured 9 lbs. 8 oz. and 22 & 1/4 inches long.

she is holding her head up like a champ during "tummy time".

she has also started giggling, which is incredibly adorable.

sometimes i feel like her and i have our own language because she coos back to me so much.

you can count on her to smile right after each feeding and lots more in between.

she has gotten so great at tracking people down in the room.

she has started sleeping the first half of the night in her crib,

 and then mom cuddles with her in the bed after her early morning nursing.

she tends to sleep on her side and a binky is a must when it's time to go down.

bath time has gotten a lot more enjoyable for her as long as the water is real warm.

she has a strong grasp and is already tugging on mom's hair sometimes.

she has just graduated from newborn clothes and diapers.

she has the most adorable everything in our opinion!

we love our blue-eyed, brunette beauty!

Sadie's blessing day

this past sunday will blessed sadie.

i felt the spirit so strong as will asked for Heavenly Father to watch over her,

 and to bless her with all of the joys this life has to offer.

i was really happy that so many of our family and friends could be there.

we had a fun lunch afterwards at our house. (i'm surprised everyone fit!)

it was a sweet and unforgettable day.

we love you to the moon and back sadie bug!

watched this little one sprout before my eyes! (3 days vs. 5&1/2 weeks)

visited BYU with my oldest sister

listened to sadie chat, chat, and chat some more. she makes the cutest noises!

dressed sadie in all of her halloween pajamas and clothes already… it's october 3rd.

enjoyed a million adorable faces and smiles from our little bug.

goodbye summer

i am so happy that fall is just around the corner!

this week i put up some of our fall decorations and i get happy just walking by them.

this fall we are looking forward to:

-going to will's soccer games 

-blessing our baby girl

-celebrating the holidays as a family of 3

-another fun halloween party with our friends

-baking lots of pumpkin recipes

-cheering on our 49'ers

-spending thanksgiving with my family

-going to disneyland with will's family

big news, we got a new family car this week! 

we absolutely love it and how roomy it is!

and of course how can i update my blog without some pictures of our baby girl!

one month

happy one full month of life (yesterday) baby girl!

this month has been the best of mine and daddy's lives. 

you have been so patient with us as we learn to take care of all your needs.

you have even been very nice to let me sleep a lot more than i expected i would.

we love hearing your squeaks when you sleep, and watching you wiggle.

you are starting to get a really strong neck and are practicing lifting your head up.

you like to roll onto your side and suck on your binky when you go to sleep.

you are always so entranced when we sing to you or move your arms to music.

you get so smiley in the morning time and sometimes right after you nurse.

we can't wait to have you be blessed by daddy at the end of this month.

you will be the most beautiful baby girl all dressed in white.

we love you to the moon and back!
