new kids on the block

welp, we did it!
we're all moved into our first house!
..and by "moved in" i mean our new living room is crammed with boxes.
but hey, one thing at a time. :)

last week we set up our bedroom, the 2 bathrooms, and the office.
we also added onto the fence out back, did lots of yard work,
and put together a coffee table, tv stand, and HUGE desk.
it was a tiring week, especially since we both worked during the days.
this week our goal is to organize and put everything in it's place.
also, our new couches and kitchen table will be coming this week!
it will be nice to sit on something other than a camping chair...
pictures of the inside to come soon!

p.s. we lucked out with good neighbors too.
most of them are elderly so it's a quiet street.
everyday though a new one comes by to say hello.
we feel very welcome here, it's great!

number 3

welp, our love for dogs got the best of us again.
here's our new puppy Maximus ("Max" for short)!

he is so lovable and playful already.
our other dogs are slowly getting used to him,
but they get along great with big dogs so we're not worried.

and yes, in case you're wondering it was my idea.
luckily my husband is just as big a dog lover as me!
he did make me promise though that this would be our last.
haha wish us luck!
we'll just be over here cuddling with our 3 adorable buddies.

mom and dad come to visit.

my parents were just up here for a visit last week.
i always look forward to them coming and the quality time.
my oldest brother and his family live 45 min. away from us
so it's nice to get the group together for activities and games.
some of the things we did with them:
-watch fireworks on the 4th of July
-a couple of picnics at the park
-visited temple square and the visitors' center
-game nights
-temple session and lunch after
-eating donuts then hiking Donut Falls (ironic?)
and lots and lots of playing!
we were lucky to be able to do so much with them despite working.
we look forward to the end of the year when we go visit them!

my nieces LOVE will. he's a good sport when they climb all over him.

me and will went paddle boating at the park.

we spotted so many mama ducks and ducklings on our ride.
they were so adorable!

dad, mom, and me at temple square.

one of the girls i nanny on our bike ride.

their mom bought us all tickets to see Monsters University.
it was a cute and funny movie!

here's to another great week of SuMmEr!

the excitement is building.

the past couple of weeks has been a rollercoaster for us.
the process of buying a house is alot of work!
lucky for us though, we have a great real estate agent.
he has seriously been with us every step of the way.
the last thing i blogged about our house was the home inspection.
well... a few things turned up.
nothing crazy, but things we weren't comfortable living with.
so we got quotes and presented the concerns to the seller.
we expected them to pick and choose what they would take care of,
but they said they'd get the repairs done on everything!
we feel so blessed that so many things with the house have worked out.
we know this is where we're supposed to be going,
and are so excited to get to know the neighbors and area better.

my parents came in town yesterday and we were able to take them by.
(the seller has already moved out.)
we figured we'd just get to show them the outside
but just when we were leaving,
an electrician stopped by (to repair one of the problems).
he told us he could let us in with his key. perfect timing.
so they got to check out the whole house!
they really like it and are so happy for us.
also, my dad with his keen eye for plants and nature
noticed that we have 2 small raspberry bushes growing in the back.
we each tried one. yum yum!
there are also cherry trees, an apple tree, and a grape vine.
will joked that we don't need to grocery shop anymore,
because we can just live off the land! haha

we're still hoping and praying the finalizations go smoothly.
and if so...
we should officially close on the house in the next week or so!
plenty of pictures to come when that happens!
