some things never change

welp people, i'm back to blonde!

i liked the change of being brunette,

but for some reason i just didn't like the thought 

of not being blonde during the summer.

i've aways been a blondie and husband jokes that now i'll have 

my excuse back for some of the ditsy moments i have. 

haha nice one, will. 

anywho, that's what's new with me!

last night we went out to celebrate will's birthday a little early.

dinner and a ReAl game (utah's soccer team).

it was alot of fun!

a good sport

when you're a photography student with constant projects to do,

you tend to take a trillion pictures of the everyday things around you.

for me, that consists of my sweet husband and 2 dogs.

i'm always using them as models or asking for will's help with a prop.

luckily, he is a good sport and i really appreciate that!

these photos are part of a "Narrative" project i'm turning in tomorrow.

together, they're supposed to tell a story.

can you tell what that is?

this place is looking so good right now.

little miss bossy pants

confession: sometimes i can be pretty dang bossy. 

and the stress of finals doesn't seem to help that at all.

poor husband has to deal with all of my demands...

me: "i can't print! why is the printer not working?

 i neeeeeed your help!!"

me: "you will have to take the dogs out this morning, i'm running late!"

me: "i have to get this photo assignment done today and need your help.

quick, drop what you're doing and come pose!"

sadly, it's the truth but something i've been trying hard to improve on.

i'm grateful for a husband that puts up with me in moments like that.

and who is willing to take the time to help me when i ask him.

you're the best, sweetie. 

i love you for every thing you are and do for us.

flower power

spring is in the air!

which means it's time to break out the florals.

i used to have a problem not wearing enough color.

white or black were my go-to tops for every skirt or pair of jeans.

i guess i was alittle nervous i'd be too mismatched or "out-there".

now though, i can proudly say i've overcome those fears.

i love to spice up my outfits with lots of COLORRR 

and spring is the perfect time to show-case this!

blogger meet-up

last weekend, me and my friend Bailee went to a fashion show

that SLCC was putting on at Fashion Place Mall.

i also heard it would be a blogger meet-up and i wanted to go bad!

it was the first one i've been to and i'm glad i did!

i saw a couple students from my sewing class i took last semester,

and got to meet and talk to the cute lauren and madison
from the "awkward girls" blog. they're dolls.

i wish i would have talked to more girls but that place was packed!
i didn't realize how many bloggers there are in the salt lake/ provo area.
it's kinda intimidating comparing their glamorous blogs to mine.
then i remind myself that we each have our own unique point of view
and that's what makes each blog special and exciting to read.
so a note to all of my blogging friends, carry on. :)

the hunt

things have been hectic around here with tests and final projects.

the end of the semester will be here before we know it.

then it's off to the Bahamas for an amazing week in paradise!

after that though... we're going to officially start house hunting!

we're both so excited to find a cute place and start decorating.

we've already been looking at furniture for when the time comes. 

(yes i AM wearing pants. they're peach.)

living in this basement apartment the past 2 years has had it's perks:

cheap rent, great location, able to see family often (grandma's house),

can have our dogs here, and been able to save up quickly.

and thanks to that blessing, we'll get this other huge blessing.

being able to be homeowners and have total say in our new space.

there will be many home improvement posts in the near future i'm sure!

so stay tuned, my friends. :)

the "fun, little look"

today after my marketing class, my professor came up to me and said:

"that's a fun, little look you've got there today. i like it!" 

his choice of words made me laugh,

but he's a cute old man about to retire and it just made my day.

oh and i did i mention that i was running late and left with wet hair?

thank goodness for these babies in school bathrooms! 

(i definitely got a few weird looks...)

life on the farm

this morning i went over to my friend's house for a photoshoot.

she lives in the valley like me, 

but that lucky duck has horses in her backyard!

she grew up with them so she said it's just like having another pet.

boy am i jealous! i've always wanted a horse! 

i've told will several times that we're getting one someday.

luckily, i have a very supportive husband. ;)

i know it's been awhile since i've done an outfit post.

well today i gave it an honest effort,

but my dogs were feeling extra needy 

and so every picture turned out like this...

we did manage to snap one of my updo (a braided bun).

after class i went on a hike with my cute friend erika.
it was perfect weather and we only had to drive 5 min. to the trailhead.
gotta love utah and all of the beautiful mountains surrounding us!

i promise i'll try for an outfit again tomorrow!

a baby!

sorry if i got your hopes up... he's not our baby. haha

on friday, my photographer friend asked me if i wanted to 

come along with her for a baby shoot. 

i'm glad i did because it was a lot of fun!

this little tike is 5 & 1/2 months old and such a cutie.

it was so easy snapping great pictures of him.

i love the atmosphere of photography.

whether it's shooting a baby, engaged couple, newlyweds, or family,

people are letting me into their lives for a couple of hours

to share their favorite people in the world and 

allowing me to be a part of and capture these sweet, precious moments.

i can't wait for my next photoshoot.
